These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to your use of reviewsforyou.ca (the "Site") and to any sponsored Top 5 spot you buy from us. The Site is operated by Reviews For You ("we", "us", "our"), 304 Main St S Suite 102, Unit 293, Airdrie, Alberta T4B 3C5. By using the Site, submitting a business, or buying a sponsored spot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. What Reviews For You is

Reviews For You publishes Top 5 lists of local businesses by industry and city in Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks, Cochrane and Chestermere, Alberta. Our free rankings are our editorial opinion, based on public reviews, years in business, credentials and other research. They are not a guarantee of any business's work, pricing, licensing or availability. Always confirm details directly with the business before you hire or buy.

2. Using the Site

• You may use the Site for your own personal or business research.
• You may not copy, scrape or republish our lists, write-ups or photos in bulk, or use the Site in a way that harms it or other users.
• You may not submit false, misleading, offensive or unlawful information, or impersonate a business you do not represent.

3. Free listings

Being listed on Reviews For You is free. Businesses can be included because of our own research or because they submitted a listing. We decide which businesses are listed, how they are described and where they rank, and we may change or remove any free listing at any time. A free listing does not create any agreement or obligation between us and the business.

When you submit a business, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it and that the information is accurate. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, edit and display the information, logo and photos you send us on the Site and in our marketing.

4. Sponsored Top 5 spots

4.1 What you are buying

A sponsored spot is a specific position (#1 to #5) in one Top 5 list, for one industry in one city, for 12 months. You can buy several spots in one order. Each spot is a separate 12-month term. Sponsored spots are labelled "Sponsored" on the Site. Sponsorship buys the position and a link to your website. It does not buy or change the description, pros or cons we publish about your business.

4.2 Eligibility

Your business must have a verified listing in that industry and city. We may refuse or cancel any sponsorship for a business that is not genuine, not active in that city, unlawful, or that we reasonably believe would mislead our readers. If we cancel for one of these reasons after you have paid, we refund the unused part of your current term.

4.3 Prices, taxes and payment

Prices are shown on the Advertise page in Canadian dollars and are plus GST. Payment is taken by card through our payment processor, Stripe, when you check out. Your spot starts as soon as payment is confirmed. If a position is taken by another business before your payment is confirmed, we will offer you another position or refund you in full.

4.4 Automatic yearly renewal

Each sponsored spot renews automatically every 12 months so that you keep your position, and the card on file is charged the renewal price plus GST on the renewal date. We email you 30 days and 7 days before each renewal. You can turn off automatic renewal for any spot at any time from your account or by contacting us before the renewal date. Turning it off stops future renewals. Your spot stays live until the end of the term you have already paid for.

4.5 Price changes

We may change our prices. A new price applies to your spot only from its next renewal, and we will tell you in the renewal reminder before you are charged.

4.6 Failed renewal payments

If a renewal payment fails, we email you and hold your spot for 14 days so that you can update your card or pay. If payment is not received within 14 days, the spot is released to other businesses and your listing returns to our free ranking.

4.7 Coupons

Coupon codes are issued at our discretion and have no cash value. Each coupon says whether its discount applies to the first year only or to every yearly renewal. A discount that applies to every renewal continues only while that spot renews without interruption. If automatic renewal is turned off or the spot is released, the coupon ends and cannot be applied again. Coupons cannot be combined unless we say so and may have expiry dates or usage limits.

4.8 Cancellations and refunds

• Because your position is reserved for you and taken off the market as soon as you pay, payments are not refundable once a spot is live, except as set out in these Terms or where required by law.
• If you are charged for an automatic renewal you did not want, contact us within 7 days of the charge. We will refund that renewal in full and release the spot.
• If we cannot provide the position you paid for, we will offer another position or refund you in full.

4.9 Your account

An account is created for you at checkout so that you can see your spots, update your card and manage renewals. Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

5. Emails

We may email businesses about their listing and about sponsorship opportunities, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every promotional email includes our mailing address and an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect a free listing. Customers with a sponsored spot will still receive receipts, renewal reminders and other messages about their purchase.

6. Third-party businesses and links

The businesses on our lists are independent of us. We are not responsible for their products, services, prices, conduct or websites, and any dealings you have with them are between you and them. Links to other websites are provided for convenience only.

7. Our content

The Site's design, text, rankings, write-ups, logos and other content belong to Reviews For You or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Business names and logos belong to their owners.

8. Disclaimer

The Site and its content are provided "as is". We work to keep information accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that any listing, ranking, address, phone number, price or other detail is complete, accurate or up to date, or that the Site will always be available. Sponsored spots do not guarantee any number of views, calls, leads or sales.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reviews For You is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Site or of any business listed on it. Our total liability for any claim relating to a sponsored spot is limited to the amount you paid for that spot in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Reviews For You against any claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from information you submit to us or from your breach of these Terms.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Changes apply from the date they are posted. For sponsored spots, changes that affect you materially apply from your next renewal, and we will tell you about them in your renewal reminder.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You and we agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
